Go to Wikimedia commons and select a couple of public domain images.
Save the images to your workspace and open into photoshop.
Create a new image in photoshop 800 pixels wide by 400 pixels high
You should now have 3 tabs open in photoshop.
Copy and paste the found images into the new image.
Note how big the images are in comparison to the new image. You can select each layer and press “command t” to transform the image to fit how you like.
Select the text tool and place some text on you project. Can be your name or whatever comes to mind.
This should make a new layer. Adjust the size of the text and the font to something that is quite thick.
Select all on the text layer and copy.
Click on the topmost found image in your layers panel and then click the little mask button at the bottom of the panel. It is the shape of the flag of Japan.
This will make a blank box to the right of the image.
Option>click on the white box and it will become visible. Paste your text into the window.
Click on the image again to exit the mask editor. You should see through to the image below in the shape of the text. (If you can’t, make sure the text layer is de-selected)
If you want the mask reversed, option click on it and select all then hit “command i” to invert it.
Save your photoshop file to the workspace. Then save it to your class folder.
Save as a jpeg and post the image to your wiki page.
